Thomas W. Moynihan
Thomas W. Moynihan is a Mechanical Systems Engineer with TranSys Research. He has a strong background in engineering analysis, including specific experience developing and using digital computation-based techniques for analyzing and simulating kinematic and dynamic behaviour of mechanical systems. Following 4 years in industry, he has gained 6 years of railway research and consulting experience and has been directly involved in the development of several analytical models ranging from train operation and performance simulators, finite element analysis models and multibody dynamics simulations used to examine the dynamics of railway derailments and collisions. Prior experience was in real-time process control software, mechanical design, systems integration and project management. Mr. Moynihan is a Professional Engineer (registered in Ontario) and holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Queen's University.
